National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
Teachers and school leaders across the region can now access a comprehensive new suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) FREE OF CHARGE.
All applications must be received by 5pm on Friday 2nd February
Red Kite Teaching School Hub – a unique collaboration of strategic partners from across North and West Yorkshire – is delivering a comprehensive NPQ programme in partnership with Teach First.
The programme represents the most widely recognised set of qualifications in the education sector for current and aspiring leaders. It is designed to fit in with the day-to-day realities of supporting teacher development and is structured to help teachers to integrate theory, practice and feedback, minimising time out of the classroom.
Leadership NPQs
- Executive Leadership, Early Years Leadership, Headship and Senior Leadership options
- Fully funded for all teachers in state schools and non-teaching colleagues applying for NPQEYL who meet the criteria
- Additional funding for every NPQ participant in a school with less than 600 pupils
- £800 for state-funded primary schools with 1 to 150 pupils
- £200 for state-funded primary schools with more than 150 pupils
- £200 for state-funded secondary schools and state-funded 16 to 19 educational settings with 1 to 600 pupils
- Minimal time commitments
- 11 x 1 hour online seminars after school
- 2 days out of school for conferences
- No assessed school based project
- Open book assessment week: one case study response
- Flexible online learning over 18 months
- Suitable for part time and full time colleagues
Specialist NPQs
- Leading Literacy, Leading Behaviour and Culture, Leading Teaching, Leading Teacher Development and Leading Primary Mathematics options
- Fully funded for all teachers in state schools and non-teaching colleagues applying for NPQLBC who meet the criteria
- Additional funding for every NPQ participant in a school with less than 600 pupils
- £800 for state-funded primary schools with 1 to 150 pupils
- £200 for state-funded primary schools with more than 150 pupils
- £200 for state-funded secondary schools and state-funded 16 to 19 educational settings with 1 to 600 pupils
- Minimal time commitments
- 9 x 1 hour online seminars after school
- 2 days out of school for conferences
- No assessed school based project

- Flexible online learning over 12 months
- Suitable for part time and full time colleagues
