DetailsOur programme covers 3 half day sessions and will be delivered by Bryony Turford from Primary Science Geeks who has a wealth of expertise.

Bryony has been delivering high quality professional development sessions for leaders, classroom practitioners, trainees and ECTs for over 17 years and a teacher for more than 20. Bryony Turford is the founder and director of Primary Science Geeks, an education consultancy based in Yorkshire and The Humber.

Session 1 - Exploring Current Issues And Agendas In Primary Science - Wednesday 19th October 2022
This session will include:
• Discussion and effective use of Ofsted subject report (published summer 2022)
• Leading your subject – where are you now and where do you want to go this year?
• Practical science elements and opportunities for discussion throughout.

Session 2 - Science Within The Wider Curriculum - Tuesday 31st January 2023
This session will include:
• Consideration of current status of science within the wider primary curriculum.
• Resources to support the teaching of ‘science by stealth’ beyond the science lesson.
• Links to English and Maths.
• Practical science elements and opportunities for discussion throughout.

Session 3 - TBC - Thursday 18th May 2023
This session will include:
• Content to be confirmed nearer the time to allow for a response to any new or pertinent issues arising

Timings: 1pm-4pm*:
Prep & Reading Time – 1pm-1.30pm
Online CPD Live Session - 1.30pm-3.30pm
Follow Up Actions – 3.30pm-4pm

* Approximately one week before the session, you will be sent a short set of preparation activities to think about, to do and to bring. These are designed to take no longer than 30 minutes to prepare. Reflection tasks should take no longer than 30 minutes after the live session.
