| Details | Our programme covers three half day sessions and will be delivered by Bryony Turford from Primary Science Geeks who has a wealth of expertise. Bryony has been delivering high quality professional development sessions for leaders, classroom practitioners, trainees and ECTs for over 17 years and a teacher for more than 20. Bryony Turford is the founder and director of Primary Science Geeks, an education consultancy based in Yorkshire and The Humber. Session 1 - Wednesday 23rd October 2024 This session will include: • My professional learning needs as a leader of science and how to address them • EEF Improving Primary Science – Guidance report recommendations 1 & 2 (thread included in all sessions) • Resources for inclusive science teaching for all – PSTT STRATA resources (thread included in all sessions) • News – keeping up to date with Primary Science Session 2 - Tuesday 25th February 2025 This session will include: • Enrichment of our science learning including Great Science Share for Schools (GSSfS), British Science Week (BSW) and science clubs • EEF Improving Primary Science – Guidance report recommendations 3 & 4 (thread included in all sessions) • Resources for inclusive science teaching for all – Explorify Inclusion Hub resources (thread included in all sessions) • News – keeping up to date with Primary Science Session 3 - Wednesday 4th June 2025 This session will include: • Equality, diversity and inclusion in primary science including a guest speaker TBC • EEF Improving Primary Science – Guidance report recommendations 5 & 6 (thread included in all sessions) • Resources for inclusive science teaching for all – PLAN Vocabulary development and My Science Club’s integrated instructions (thread included in all sessions) • News – keeping up to date with Primary Science Timings: 1pm-4pm*: Prep & Reading Time – 1pm-1.30pm Online CPD Live Session - 1.30pm-3.30pm Follow Up Actions – 3.30pm-4pm * Approximately one week before the session, you will be sent a short set of preparation activities to think about, to do and to bring. These are designed to take no longer than 30 minutes to prepare.
